ByrnSites is a one-person web design studio based in Dublin, Ireland. This policy covers this website and any enquiry you send through it. Questions about it go to byrnsites@gmail.com.

No data is collected for marketing

No personal data is gathered on this site for marketing purposes. There is no mailing list sign-up, no lead capture, no profiling, and no attempt to identify or follow visitors. Nothing you do on this site is recorded to advertise to you afterwards.

No analytics and no tracking cookies

This site sets no cookies at all — not for analytics, not for advertising, not for preferences. It runs no analytics product of any kind: no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no heatmaps, no session recording. Nothing is stored in your browser's local storage either.

Because no cookies or similar technologies are used, there is no cookie banner and nothing for you to consent to or opt out of.

No advertising services

No third-party advertising or ad-targeting services are used on this site. No advertising networks, retargeting pixels or data brokers are involved in any way.

What happens when you send an enquiry

The contact form on this site has no server behind it. When you submit it, your own email application opens with the message already written, and you send it yourself. That means the form itself does not transmit or store anything — your details reach me only as an ordinary email, sent by you.

Whatever you choose to include in that email — typically your name, email address and a description of what you need — is used for one purpose only: to reply to you and, if you go ahead, to carry out the work. It is not added to any marketing list and is not used for anything else.

Enquiry emails are held in a standard email account for as long as they are useful for the enquiry or the project, and are deleted when they are no longer needed. You can ask me to delete your enquiry at any time.

Nothing is sold or shared

Your information is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their own purposes. The only exception is where disclosure is required by law — for example a valid court order or a legal obligation — and that has never arisen.

Third parties this site does rely on

Two things are worth stating plainly, because being accurate matters more than sounding absolute:

• Fonts. The typefaces are served by Google Fonts. Loading them means your browser makes a request to Google, which necessarily reveals your IP address and browser type to Google. Google Fonts sets no cookies, and this site sends no other information with the request. If you would rather this did not happen, the fonts can be self-hosted instead — ask and it will be changed.
• Web hosting. Like any website, the server that delivers these pages keeps standard access logs, which normally include IP addresses and are retained briefly for security and reliability. These logs are not used to build any profile of you.

Beyond those two, this site makes no other external requests. There are no embedded videos, maps, chat widgets, social buttons or comment systems.

Your rights

Under the GDPR and Irish data protection law you have the right to ask what personal data is held about you, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its use, and to receive a copy of it. Because the only personal data here is the content of emails you chose to send, these requests are usually settled in a single reply.

Email byrnsites@gmail.com and you will get an answer. If you are not satisfied with how a request is handled, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.

Changes to this policy

If the site changes in a way that affects this policy — adding a form that posts to a server, for instance — this page will be updated and the date at the top changed with it.
